When encountering a pedestrian who is using a white cane or guide dog:

Drivers should watch for pedestrians in a marked or unmarked crosswalk when approaching an intersection. Pedestrians carrying a white cane or using a guide dog must be given the absolute right-of-way.

• Allow them the right-of-way.
• Honk to alert them to your presence.
• Quickly swerve around them.
