An approved rear-facing child restraint system is required for any child:
State law requires children under the age of 16 to be secured in proper child restraint and safety systems while riding in a vehicle. The required child restraint system for a child who is under the age of one and weighs 20 pounds or less is an approved rear-facing child restraint system.
- Weighing 25 pounds or less.
- One year of age, weighing 30 pounds or less.
- Under one year of age, weighing 20 pounds or less.
